Im going double human female, main is custom finesse two handed with spears with necromancy and geo for cc and support, the other one is Lohse with int and some fin, using only 1 dagger to make use of torturer with bleed and rupture tendons, using every support skill plus necromancy spells, both physical dmg, all themed around blood, the main is a jester and mystic and i see her as a kinda immature skilled acrobatic warrior that going to grow as a character during the game with the help of Lohse's main story.

Lohse is using summoning too but only totems and its quite mobile, all part of the roleplaying aspect and how i see the this two characters fighting if it were real time. I also did something similar with Ifan and Sebille both going rogue and i had a really good backstory synergy but it was absurdly overpowered and i had to quit, everything died so fast it was just boring. Rogue and retribution tank. Rogue goes first, backstabs, kills stuff, your general rogue things. Then ends the turn going invisible, leaving only the tank to be attacked. Tank has high retribution and enough necro to grab shackles of pain, causing enemies to kill themselves by attacking you.

Rogue delays turn while invisible, so tank has to be attacked again. Tank spends turn purposely getting opportunity attacked so it can reflect damage back at enemies, then ends it with battle stomp or battering ram to add some cc. Rogue then goes back to back turns due to the delay, and mops up any non kocked down enemies, potentially getting rid of whoever would go in between the rogue and tank.

Story purposes, make Ifan the tank, and either Sebille or Beast the rogue, as ifan and beast both hate deathfog in their backgrounds, so they'd get along well, and Beast as a dwarf gets extra rogue-y dodge stats, and Ifan was a paladin before, and rpg paladins are usually tanky. Sebille works as a rogue because it's her default class, and would get along with Ifan due to Ifan liking elves and they both have a reluctant mass murderer vibe going with their backstories.

Well since they nefted Lonewolf its made the game a tad harder the cap on skills being 10 had made some builds not viable imho like a Two handed warrior. Abilties are a pain as you need enough in strenght to use good armour rest in Intellgence and Wits with a splatter in memory. The idea of the Conj is to distract enemys so they dont focus on your 2 mains.

This combo is pretty flexable. Ohh i forgot they both have Tactical Retreat and Adreahline sorry cant spell that.

Hey guys, im playing this game with some friends and im having a lot of fun but id like to play a lone wolf game as a mage class. I was thinking about elementalist what do you Think about it? In my experience of 5 playthroughs Lone Wolf can actually be a disadvantage to a 4 man group. Long as you know what works the game is pretty easy either way. Tactical or otherwise. In the end you lose viable builds taking Lone Wolf. Builds that would function decent normally. Summoning is just off the table entirely and skills that don't scale with a stat are even worse than normal.

Oh, word? Can I still use lone wolf with multiple NPCs in my group? Or can I only have one? I don't understand the reasoning behind the patch on lone wolf. I was planning out a build and now I'm already capped at lvl 9?? Like wtf everyone was saying this game is so easy with lone wolf but I'm playing absolutely solo and It had a good strategic difficulty but now I can't raise my strength or retribution now cause of this patch and ruins any sort of lone wolf person now.

I don't want one character with a thousand different abilities later on like this is stupid. I want to keep playing this game its absolutely stunning and awesome but this ruined it for me let me do as I please like the pc people did for so long.

And to the people who say lone wolf makes it way to easy literally just choose a different talent???? My two person lone wolf party: I have a lone wolf wayfarer - Ifan. I'm level six or seven and have maxed out scoundrel and have put all stat points in to finesse. So far he has lone wolf and pet talk. I added Fane, a rogue, as my second I picked him because his fingers are lockpicks - turns out most things I can't open anyway so I just bash it down.

I don't remember what his original skill was, but at level 3 I made him a lone wolf also. Level I used a lot of potions and a few res scrolls. Life was tough.

Level Fane dominated the field the moment he gained lone wolf.And if so, how do you do it? As it takes a lot of time to answer these questions, and I am not generally fond of repeating myself, I decided to create this Guide.

Hopefully it will answer everything you want to know about Lone Wolf Builds in general, and how to make my Builds into Lone Wolf Variants. The Definitive Edition has changed the way Lone Wolf works, because you can now no longer pump Attributes past 40 with Attribute Points, and you cannot increase Combat Abilities past 10 with Ability Points. What this creates is an over abundance of Points to place, and not always a clear picture of where to place them.

As it stands now you will hit the cap for your primary Attribute StrengthFinesseIntelligence at Level 7, and you will hit your Combat Ability cap for a particular Skill at Level 5. Since more than half of the game is played after that point, it leaves a lot of players wondering how to efficiently progress their Builds. Before the Definitive Edition players would simply push their primary Attribute up to 80, maxing the damage they dealt, and that WAS the most efficient method of playing. Luckily the answer is the same for most Builds:.

Most Builds will need a few Points for Memoryto be able to slot all the Skills they wish, but almost all additional points will go into Wits for increased Critical Chance. This means nearly all Builds will follow this principle.

Enrage guarantees Critical Hits, so reduces the effectiveness of having Wits. This often results in being CCed, and blown apart no matter how much Vitality you have, unless you have a boat load of it. However, because you will max out Wits around level 17 or so, you will dump all remaining points here.

This is simply because there is no other useful place to put them but Memory, and you only need so much of that. The only exceptions to this are those Builds that deal the same damage type, but use two different Attributes to achieve this.

The other is the Death Knight. Once there, you apply this same rule and pump Wits. Wardens and Assassins use the same Attribute, and thus they would increase Wits once Finesse is maxed, and do not fall into the above exception. While Attributes are rather straight forward when it comes to Lone Wolf, Combat Abilities are another matter entirely.

The Definitive Edition change has taken what used to be a very clear way of making Builds, and made the waters very very murky. While players used to be able to take their Primary Combat Ability up to 20, now they can only take it up to 10, at which point they must find another two or three Abilities that will help to boost their damage.

You will only need 3 that boost damage in order to succeed on the hardest difficulties, but any less than that and your Build will struggle later in the game.

Warrior Builds focus on the use of Weapons to deal damage, whether they use Strength, Finesse or Intelligence, it makes no difference.

Traditional Warriors will pump Warfare to max ideally, while Battlemage types will pump whatever school of magic they are using. In any of these cases, you simply pump that Ability next to increase your damage with that weapon setup even further.

Besides the odd Ability Point into various other Abilities to pick up some Skills, Warrior Builds will now add Scoundrel to increase their Critical Damage even further. Stats on my level 12 Lone Wolf Warrior with no Points invested anywhere else.

The issue with a Warrior is where to put points after Scoundrel. Now, this becomes a bit more convoluted when you add another type of damage to a Warrior Build. However, they are not as complicated as they might appear.

I usually love brewing builds in games like these and I used probably 80hours in chapter one when the game came out just making builds, but in definitive I really hate the 10 cap on the class stuff. So for the people who've done some lone wolfing, is the build variety still there or do your characters start to merge together because of the capped skills?

I love the game but to be absolutely honest build variety is non existent, there is like 4 different playstyles, and thats it, this is due to the armor systen not allowing to benefit from mixed damage and the fact that the fights end up being a race to decrease armor values to cc and win, this makes all builds that dont deal massive dmg just challenges for the player, without benefit whatsoever besides gimping your character for roleplaying purposes.

In my case the new no fun allowed cap forced me to have a bit of const, some leadership and perseverance, its nice, helpfull in a few cases, overall you just deal less dmg than before. Last edited by Imyo ; 16 Sep, pm.

Depends on what you like using really, and depends if you duo lone wolf or solo, I was running a hydro spear user on a lonewolf, was having quite fun with that maxing crits with crowd control and spells like ice breaker, the spears range is very useful, gives it the widest usage of whirlwind and oppurtunist.

Can get a lot of mileage out of dual-wielding Mainhand Poison with Off-Hand Fire, or opening with Rain into Air Wand attacks even in the early game, especially with boosted stats from Lone Wolf. Early on you cant even put crit gems in wands. See you guys talking LATE game which like ya every spec does great damage. But at that point physical is out of this world bro.

Rangers are doing none crit hits. I freaken one shotted braccus rex with arrow storm. Seen videos of rogues killing doctor in the opening turn. Like I know how to build a caster lol its not rocket science.

The Best Lone Wolf Build for Divinity: Original Sin 2

Really enjoying reading this thread though. Great opinions and viewpoints guys.Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the best co-op RPGs to come out in recent years, allowing up to 4 players to play together any way they want. However, if you prefer flying solo, you can do that too, because the game offers a Lone Wolf talent for you to use with your character!

The Lone Wolf talent doesn't restrict you to just one character in your party, and you'll be able to have at most one other companion with you. But bear in mind that a party of two will need to employ a very different set of tactics than a party of four will. If you know you want to play a Lone Wolf character, some builds will be better than others. I hope you like Summoning! If you want to go it alone, your best race options are Human and Elf. And I'd personally recommend creating a custom character, since Dome of Protection is an excellent skill to have.

Elves, on the other hand, get Cannibalize and Flesh Sacrifice. Cannibalize isn't especially helpful for Lone Wolves, but Flesh Sacrifice is a great racial skill that will net you more AP to work with in combat.

You may not get much benefit from the damage boost, though. If you've read our Divinity 2 character creation guideyou know that Elves can also acquire a few skills for free without having to use any skill points -- so if you want to get an edge in the early game that will help you wander the lonesome road, Elf will probably be the way to go.

To start off with your loner character, you're going to want 14 Constitution and 12 Wits. These will be your most important attributes for the rest of the game. Constitution is obviously important for not dying, but Wits provides Initiative -- a vital stat for Tactician mode. As the initial combat round will shape the flow of the fight, you'll want to go first whenever possible. The rest of your attribute points should be spent as you need them either to fulfill stat requirements or to support any other skills you decide to pick up.

As you probably already know, the classes don't really mean anything -- so there's no "best class" for the Lone Wolf player if you customize your abilities, skills, and talents out of the class presets.

You could pick any class you wanted, then change it all to fit this build. With that in mind, the best ability for a Lone Wolf to focus on is Summoning. You want to get 10 points into Summoning as soon as possible -- which is incredibly easy, since every point you invest into a Combat Ability is doubled by the Lone Wolf talent. Not only will most of your skills scale directly off of your Summoning ability, butyour Conjure Incarnate skill will also call forth a menacing Colossal Incarnate at Summoning 10 -- and it's superior in every way to the old one.
